Site Supervisor – Groundworks & Retaining Walls

Salary and Package Circa 45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus company van, paid accommodation when working away, food allowance, 23 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Location

Based from Burntwood, Staffordshire, with projects across the UK. This role involves regular working away from home during the week, with accommodation and subsistence provided.

Full-time, Permanent Position

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Supervisor – Groundworks & Retaining Walls to join a specialist contractor delivering retaining wall systems, ground engineering and environmental construction projects across the UK. The Site Supervisor – Groundworks & Retaining Walls will lead site operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This Site Supervisor – Groundworks & Retaining Walls role would suit someone from a civil engineering, groundworks, construction or residential infrastructure background who enjoys working on varied projects. As a Site Supervisor – Groundworks & Retaining Walls, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of specialist installation works while working alongside an experienced operational team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will supervise the installation of specialist retaining wall systems and associated groundworks on sites across the UK. You will ensure works are completed safely, on programme and in accordance with project specifications while maintaining high standards of quality and site organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising day-to-day site activities and installation teams
• Overseeing the installation of retaining wall systems and associated groundworks
• Ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with RAMS and company procedures
• Coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors on site
• Monitoring quality standards and ensuring works meet specification
• Liaising with Project Managers, clients and site representatives
• Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress
• Carrying out site inspections and resolving day-to-day issues
• Promoting high standards of health, safety and housekeeping
• Supporting the timely and efficient delivery of projects

The successful candidate will have previous supervisory experience within civil engineering, groundworks, construction or residential infrastructure projects. Experience with retaining walls, earthworks or geotechnical projects would be advantageous but is not essential. You should be comfortable working away from home during the week and be confident leading site teams.

Essential requirements:

• Previous Site Supervisor or Foreman experience
• SSSTS or SMSTS
• Valid CSCS Card
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Strong understanding of health and safety on construction sites
• Willingness to travel and work away as required
