Lead the Future of Highways – Project Manager (Southern England)

I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a construction company that’s experiencing exceptional growth and has a full order book. As part of their strategic expansion, they’re looking to grow their Highways division and are seeking a passionate and experienced Project Manager with a background in Highway Civils to lead this exciting development.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the leading SME contractors in the South East. Based out of their Hampshire office, the successful candidate will oversee a portfolio of infrastructure projects across Hampshire and the South of England.

You’ll be leading the highways division and be responsible for the full lifecycle of projects – from tender through to completion. Whether you’re an established Project Manager or a Site Agent ready to take the next step, this role offers the chance to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and grow the highways and project management capabilities
• Lead bids and secure new frameworks
• Drive productivity and innovation across projects
• Ensure safe, timely, and budget-conscious delivery
• Build strong client relationships and ensure compliance with industry standards

Candidate Requirements

• Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Proven experience delivering highways projects
• Valid UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel across Hampshire and Southern England
• Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
