Setting Out Engineer

Delivering improvements to the High Street in Old Town Stevenage.

The project aims to:

To carry out extensive road resurfacing, pavement improvement and drainage works.

The project is being delivered in phases.

The main phase of construction is currently programmed to begin on Monday 23 February 2026 with this requirement to commence Monday 2nd of March for 7 months

Project

This phase on the High Street will provide:

• a new junction to replace A mini roundabout
• a new zebra crossing
• a narrowing of the section of High Street to create a one-way road
• a new, wider shared-use path (for walking, wheeling and cycling) creating a link between the High Street and the underpass
• new trees
• road resurfacing.

The High Street will remain open for business, and all parking will operate as normal, apart from bays within works areas and road closures.

works are split into eight phases.

Applicants will demonstrate experience in these types of projects

A formal engineering qualification and driving license is required
