BRC are working closely with a leading organisation in the social housing sector to recruit 2 experienced Electricians. This is a great opportunity for qualified electricians who posses practical, productive and electrical engineering skills with adequate technical knowledge.

This role involves undertaking cyclical testing of emergency lighting; both maintained and unmaintained and fire alarm systems, completing testing procedures monthly and annually. Evidence all maintenance, replacements in the relevant log books ensuring all installations adhere to current regulations to ensure compliance. The role also involves ensuring all repairs are completed within the specified time period to required standards.

Duties:

• Work from drawings and specifications, requisition the necessary installation materials, take responsibility for the accurate completion of work and, where required, support other operatives.
• Design and construct electrical installations, including full and part rewires using different containment systems such as conduit and trunking, in accordance with current IEE Wiring Regulations.
• Maintain and certify electrical installations across commercial and domestic properties, including external lighting where control over the electrical supply and isolation is available.
• Undertake works ranging from minor repairs to the installation of new circuits, completing all relevant testing and certification.
• Complete all relevant electrical testing and safety certificates, including installation and condition reports, minor works, fire alarm, smoke alarm and emergency lighting certification.
• Install, maintain, diagnose faults and repair a range of heating systems and controls.
• Install, maintain, diagnose faults and repair a range of door entry systems.
• Complete monthly and annual testing procedures and record all maintenance and replacements in the relevant log books, ensuring installations comply with current regulations.
• Mentor, coach and develop apprentices and other members of staff.
• Ensure all repairs are completed within the specified time period, to the required standard and in accordance with current regulations and the driver handbook.
• Drive an allocated works vehicle in accordance with the driver handbook, including pre-inspecting work, identifying requirements and obtaining the resources, materials and plant needed to complete repairs to the required standard.
• Accurately record work time, materials and plant used to complete repairs, ensuring resources are maximised.
• Ensure the safe use and storage of all issued plant and report any defects.
• Carry out daily safety checks of the allocated works vehicle and record findings appropriately.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, both internally and externally.
• Work safely and appropriately at all times, in accordance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Excellent interpersonal skills to include strong communication, influencing and negotiating abilities, including an ability to contribute to the strategic thinking and direction of the organisation.
• Excellent customer service skills with an ability to establish a rapport with residents, stakeholders and contractors.
• Highly organised with excellent planning, coordination and attention to detail ability gained from working in a high-pressure environment with conflicting priorities.
• Experience of testing and inspecting electrical installations of both condition and installation certifications.
• Flexible approach to work and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Relevant professional qualification, such as:

• To have achieved all competencies of an apprenticeship in Installing electrotechnical systems and equipment or Equivalent.
• AM2 certified in Electrotechnical Occupational Competence or equivalent
• NVQ Level 3
• 18th Edition IEE wiring Regulations
• City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 or equivalent Inspection and Testing Qualification

MUST HAVE –

• Full UK driving licence
