The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, compliance, and operational efficiency of its facilities in Theale.

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all building services, infrastructure, contractor management, health & safety compliance, and facilities-related projects. The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering a safe, efficient, and high-performing working environment while supporting future business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities & Building Management

• Manage the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and upkeep of buildings, services, and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance schedules.
• Ensure facilities remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and asset performance.
• Coordinate reactive maintenance and resolve operational issues efficiently.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety legislation and building regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Manage statutory testing and certification requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the business.
• Ensure contractors operate safely and in line with company procedures.

Project Management

• Lead facilities improvement projects, refurbishments, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
• Support office moves, layout changes, and workplace improvement initiatives.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Proven experience in a Facilities Manager, Building Manager, Estates Manager, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of facilities management principles, building maintenance, and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing contractors and external service providers.
• Excellent knowledge of health & safety legislation and risk management.
• Experience managing facilities budgets and controlling costs.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facilities management systems.

Desirable

• Facilities Management qualification (IWFM, BIFM or equivalent).
• NEBOSH, IOSH or relevant Health & Safety qualification.
• Experience leading facilities improvement or refurbishment projects.
• Knowledge of sustainability and energy management initiatives.
