Conrad Consulting is partnering with a leading multi-disciplinary construction consultancy to recruit an Associate Director / Design Delivery Lead for its growing Essex office.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Design Manager, Associate Director, Project Director or Senior Design Professional looking to lead multidisciplinary teams, deliver complex construction projects and play a key role in the future growth of an established consultancy.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you’ll oversee the delivery of refurbishment, capital works and Hard FM projects valued from £500k to £10m+, ensuring projects are delivered on programme, within budget and to the highest technical standards.

The Role

As Associate Director / Design Delivery Lead, you’ll take ownership of project delivery across Architecture, Building Surveying, Building Services and specialist design disciplines while mentoring teams, managing clients and driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams across a varied project portfolio.
• Deliver refurbishment, Hard FM and capital works projects from £500k-£10m+.
• Manage project delivery from concept through to construction.
• Coordinate design programmes, resources and technical delivery.
• Ensure quality, compliance and commercial performance.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Review coordinated RIBA Stage 4 technical design information.
• Support business development and office growth.
• Mentor and develop high-performing technical teams.

About You

You’ll come from a professional consultancy background in one of the following disciplines:

• Architecture
• Building Surveying
• Building Services Engineering
• Design Management
• Project Management

You’ll also have:

• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• A proven track record delivering refurbishment, asset improvement or capital works projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of design and construction.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent client-facing, commercial and leadership skills.
• A passion for developing people and driving successful project delivery.
