We are recruiting for a Pipeline Engineer, to join the Pipelines Maintenance Department reporting to the Pipeline Engineering Manager. This role is specifically intended to address Cathodic Protection remedial works, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a 3-year plan to improve the performance of Cathodic Protection systems, investigate faults and manage any required remedial actions.

Much of the remedial works will involve excavation in carriageway and footpaths, experience of working, and or managing work in that environment would be advantageous. Similarly, a strong understanding on the principals of Cathodic Protection will be beneficial.

The role will manage the remedial works across the central belt & Fife areas, base location is flexible as travel to sites is essential.

What will you be doing day to day?

• Manage specialist contractor teams carrying out remedial works.
• Fault finding and determining suitable remedial actions.
• Capturing all works carried out with accurate records.
• Ensuring safe working practices throughout all aspects of the work.
• Liaising with local authorities and other stakeholders to manage work programs.

What you’ll need

• Excellent communication skills to ensure positive interactions are maintained with all stakeholders.
• Proven track record on delivering high standards of work in a safety critical role.
• Capable of preparing detailed reports detailing works carried out.
• A flexible and positive attitude to work, self-motivated to deliver work to a high standard.
• Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and maps.
• NRSWA Operative level, preferably Supervisor level.
• Knowledge of the traffic management system and ability to liaise with traffic management contractors.
• Good understanding of procedures relevant to Pipelines and particularly Cathodic Protection, SGN/PM/MAINT/5, SGN/PM/ECP/2 & SGN/WI/SW/2.
• Full driving license is essential.
• You may be expected to take part in the Maintenance standby as required.
